2 1.Some verbs in Spanish are called stem- changing/boot verbs. 2.In a stem- changing/boot verb; all forms of the verb except nosotros and vosotros have a change in the stem. The verbs empezar, comenzar, pensar, perder, querer, and preferir are examples of stem-changing verbs. In the above verbs, the e (usually the second e of the stem) changes from e to ie in all forms but nosotros/vosotros.

3 3.The ending of a stem-changer/boot verb is the same as a regular verb. -ar stem-changing/boot verbs have –ar verb endings. -er stem-changing/boot verbs have –er verb endings. -ir stem-changing/boot verbs have –ir verb endings.
