Morning Arrival Students should be at school no earlier than 7:30 a.m. Supervision begins at 7:30 a.m. by cafeteria personnel until 8:10 for students who wish to have FREE breakfast at school. Before school care is provided by the YWCA for students dropped off before 7:30 a.m. Students should be lining up by the POD building stairs by 8:05. Teachers will be picking up students at 8:10. Please note that the students must be inside the classroom by 8:20am. They will be marked tardy at 8:21am.

Estudiantes no deben estar en la escuela antes de las 7:30 de la mañana. Afternoon Dismissal Procedures Students are dismissed at 1:50 p.m. each day. Students will be waiting in the finger wings behind the cone labeled. If it is raining, students will wait at the same location. At 2:10 students will be escorted to the main office to wait for parents who are late. This is not the time for parent conferences. If you wish to have a parent/teacher conference, please let us know by sending a note with your child. We will let you know when is the best possible time for a conference.

Estudiantes salen a las 1:50 de la tarde cada dia. En el caso que esta lloviendo, los estudiantes esperan en el mismo lugar. A las 2:10 las maestras llevan a los estudiantes a la oficina principal para esperar los padres que llegan tarde. La hora de saler no es el momento de hablar con la maestra sobre su hijo/a. Si usted desea obtener una conferencia con la maestra, por favor mande una nota con su hijo/a y te dejamos saber cuando es el tiempo apropiado. Procedimiento de Salida

Attendance Policy Attendance is MANDATORY. If your child is absent, a note is required explaining the reason of his/her absence when he/she returns to school Absences are excused when: 1. The student is sick. (5 or more absences requires a doctor’s note. 10 or more absences students will receive an NG in their report card and may be retained due to excessive absences.) 2. A doctor’s appointment that cannot be scheduled before or after school. (A note from the doctor’s office is required) 3. Death in the family 4. Religious holiday 5. School event approved by the administration 6. Outdoor Suspension Students who have 100% attendance are placed in a raffle to win great prizes at the end of each grading period.

Poliza de Aucencias La asistencia es OBLIGATORIA. Si su hijo/a está ausente del colegio es requerido mandar una nota explicando el motivo de la ausencia cuando regrese al colegio. Ausencias son justificadas por los siguientes motivos: 1. Enferemedad del estudiante (5 mas ausencias requiera una nota del médico. Si el estudiante acumula 10 o mas ausencias recibirá en el Reporte de Calificaciones las letras NG o NO GRADO y es posible que repetirá el curso. 2. Cita con el médico ( una nota de médico es requerido) 3. Muerte de un familiar 4. Dia religioso 5. Actividad aproprada por la administración 6. Suspención de la escuela Estudiantes con 100% asistencia será entrado en un rifa en donde pueden ganar premios cada período de calificaciones

Poliza de Llegadas Tardes El dia escolar empieza puntualmente a las 8:10. Algun estudiante que llega después de las 8:20 es considerado tarde. Algun estudiante que llega después de las 8:45 necesita una nota de la oficina principal. Después de tres llegadas tardes el nombre del estudiante no sera entrado en la rifa para ganar los premios cada período de calificaciones y será reportado a la administración. Tardy Policy The school day begins promptly at 8:10 a.m. Any student arriving after 8:20 is considered late. Any student entering after 8:45 can not enter the classroom without a note from the main office. After 3 tardies, students will not be eligible for the perfect attendance raffle at the end of each grading period. More than five tardies will have to be reported to the administration.

Uniform/Uniformes Uniforms are MANDATORY Boys: Blue Polo Shirt with blue or khaki pants with a belt Girls: Blue Polo Shirt with blue or khaki skirt or pants. Examenes del Estado Todos los estudiantes in kindergarten, primer y segundo grado tomarán el examen SAT en lectura y matemáticas. El examen de Lectura sera administrado en Abril y el examen de Matematicas sera administrado Abril. Un taller para los padres será conducido en Enero para explicar el examen. State Exams All students in Kindergarten, first and second grade will be taking the SAT in reading and in math. The Reading Test will be given on April the Math Test will be given on April. Parent workshops will be given in January to further explain the exam.

Homework Policy Homework is MANDATORY and is given daily. Homework is checked on a daily basis. Students who do not complete their homework assignments will be on yellow in the home learning chart and could be excluded from recess and be excluded from field trips.
