Pretérito A single event (Something that happened once.) Ejemplo: Fui a Madrid el sábado.

One or more events or actions that began and ENDED in the past. Ejemplo: Fui a Madrid y compré un boleto para ir a Salamanca.

An event that occurred, interrupting another action Ejemplo: …cuando me dijeron la verdad.

Changes in an existing physical or mental state at a precise moment for a particular isolated cause. Ejemplo: Tuve miedo cuando vi el perro.

IMPERFECTO

A habitual/repeated action. Ejemplo: Cada día hacía la tarea.
