Ejemplos: ¿Cuántos años tienes? Tengo quince años. There are many common expressions that use tener. Notice that English uses the verb to be in the equivalent expressions. Ejemplos: ¿Cuántos años tienes? How old are you? (Literally, How many years do you have?) Tengo quince años. I’m fifteen years old. (Literally, I have fifteen years.)
