Compárense Efes. 6:10-19; 2 Pet. 1:5-11, para no tropezar. Introduction. In this same chapter Paul tells us of things that will help us to stand firm in the Lord. Compare Eph. 6:10-19; 2 Pet. 1:5-11, to avoid stumbling.

“Estad Firmes en el Señor” “Stand Firm in the Lord” V. 2 – Vivir en armonía en el Señor (“sean de un mismo sentir en el Señor”). Aunque sea difícil. El “compañero fiel” (maduro, espiri-tual) podía solucionar problemas. 1 Cor. 6:5. V. 2 – Live in harmony in the Lord (“be of the same mind in the Lord”). Even when it’s difficult. The “true companion” (mature, spiritual) could solve problems. 1 Cor. 6:5.

“Estad Firmes en el Señor” “Stand Firm in the Lord” V. 3 – Ayudarnos unos a otros. Cooperar con los demás cuyos nombres están en el libro de la vida. Rom. 16:1, 3; 1 Cor. 16:15. V. 3 – Help each other. Cooperate with the others whose names are in the book of life. Rom. 16:1, 3; 1 Cor. 16:15.

Hech. 16:24, 25; 1 Tes. 5:16; Judas 1:24, 25. V. 4 – Rejoice in the Lord always (Paul a prisoner in Rome!). Again: “in the Lord” (as Christians). Acts 16:24, 25; 1 Thess. 5:16; Jude 1:24, 25.

V. 5 – That our “gentleness” (forbear-ing spirit) be known by all. Let it be a dominant and obvious characteristic. Like Jesus, Matt. 11:28-30.

Santo y seña de cris-tianos perseguidos… Creemos esto? ¿Cómo seríamos si El estuviera físicamente cerca, en el mismo cuarto? “The Lord is near.” Password of persecuted Christians… Do we believe this? How would we act if He were physically near, in the same room?

V. 6 – “In nothing be anxious.” Matt. 6:25-34; 2 Tim. 2:19; Matt. 13:22, “the worry of the world chokes the word.” But concerned about others, yes, 1 Cor. 12:25; 2 Cor. 11:28.

V. 7 – Live a tranquil life. “And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” 2 Thess. 2:16, 17; 3:16.

Biblia, estudios, himnos. V. 8 – Meditate on “whatever things are true… noble… just… pure… lovely… worthy of praise.” TV, videos, books, music? Bible, studies, hymns.

“Estad Firmes en el Señor” “Stand Firm in the Lord” Rom. 2:16, “en el día en que, conforme a mi evangelio, Dios juzgue los secretos de los hombres, por medio de Cristo Jesús”. Heb. 4:12, 13. Rom. 2:16, “on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of men through Christ Jesus.” Heb. 4:12, 13.

V. 9 – Follow good examples: “The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.” 1 Thess. 5:12; Heb. 13:7.
