En Lucas 18, Nosotros encontramos dos parabolas. In Luke 18, we find ourselves 2 parables. 1. El fariseo y el publicano. The Pharisee and the tax collecter. Lucas 18:9-14. 2. La Viuda Persistente. The Persistent Widow. Lucas 18:1-8.

This is not the first time Jesus used a parable to teach about prayer: Esta nos es la primera vez que Jesús usa una parábola para enseñar sobre la oración: This is not the first time Jesus used a parable to teach about prayer: Nos acordamos de: Do we remember of: ¿El amigo a media noche? The friend at midnight? En esta parábola, él nos enseñó sobre la importante que tiene la oración en la vida de cada cristiano fiel y verdadero. In this parable he thought about the importance of prayer in every faithful Christian life.

El tema de nuestra parábola hoy es muy simple: Our theme of this parable is really simple: La importancia de ser "persistentes" The importance of being "persistant". Nuestro primer verso de esta parábola dice: Our first verse of this parable says.. También les refirió Jesús una parábola sobre la necesidad de orar siempre, y no desmayar, Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart,

Lucas 18:1-8. 1También les refirió Jesús una parábola sobre la necesidad de orar siempre, y no desmayar, 2diciendo: Había en una ciudad un juez, que ni temía a Dios, ni respetaba a hombre. 3Había también en aquella ciudad una viuda, la cual venía a él, diciendo: Hazme justicia de mi adversario. 4Y él no quiso por algún tiempo; pero después de esto dijo dentro de sí: Aunque ni temo a Dios, ni tengo respeto a hombre, 5sin embargo, porque esta viuda me es molesta, le haré justicia, no sea que viniendo de continuo, me agote la paciencia. 6Y dijo el Señor: Oíd lo que dijo el juez injusto. 7¿Y acaso Dios no hará justicia a sus escogidos, que claman a él día y noche? ¿Se tardará en responderles? 8Os digo que pronto les hará justicia. Pero cuando venga el Hijo del Hombre, ¿hallará fe en la tierra?

Luke 18:1-8. Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart, Saying: "There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man. Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, 'Get justice for me from my adversary.' And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, 'Though I do not fear God nor regard man, Yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.' " Then the Lord said, "Hear what the unjust judge said. And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?"

La parábola misma: The parable itself: Se nos muestra el carácter del rey. The king's character is shown to us. 2diciendo: Había en una ciudad un juez, que ni temía a Dios, ni respetaba a hombre. Saying: "There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man. No teme a Dios. He did not fear God. No respetaba a los hombres. Nor Regard man.

Is that attitude common? ¡Malo y sin respeto! ¡He dosen't fear God, Nor regard man! ¿Qué más podemos pedirle a un hombre así? What else can you expect from a man like this? Tiene en sus manos la oportunidad de hacer el bien, por la posición que tiene, pero en lugar de eso, este es de los que abusan la posición que se les ha dado… He has the opportunity to do good, for the position he has, but instead he abuses his position by being evil. ¿Es rara esa acción? Is that attitude common?

3Había también en aquella ciudad una viuda, la cual venía a él, diciendo: Hazme justicia de mi adversario. Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, 'Get justice for me from my adversary.' Según nos dice el texto, esta mujer tenía un problema con su “adversario”. Un enemigo, alguien que le estaba queriendo hacer daño… ¿Un fariseo? According to verse 3 this woman has a problem with her “adversary”. An enemy, somebody that is trying to hurt her… A Pharisee?

Pero veamos la dificultad que enfrentó: Era el deber y la responsabilidad de todos los magistrados, no solo no robar y engañar a las viudas… Jeremías 22:3…Sino también castigar al opresor y amparar a la viuda…Isaías 1:17. It was the responsibility of all the magistrates not to steal and deceive the widows,… Jeremiah 22:3… But to punish the oppressor and to protect the widows…Isaiah 1:17. Pero veamos la dificultad que enfrentó: But let's see the difficulty that she faces:

¿Por qué no quería hacerle justicia? 4Y él no quiso por algún tiempo; pero después de esto dijo dentro de sí: Aunque ni temo a Dios, ni tengo respeto a hombre, And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, 'Though I do not fear God nor regard man, ¿Por qué no quería hacerle justicia? Why he didn't want to make justice to her? ¿Porque la mujer no era importante? Because she was not an important person? ¿Porque quería que lo sobornara así como ellos estaban acostumbrados? Because he was waiting to be bribed like they all did? O, ¿porque simplemente era malo? Or, just because he was an evil judge?

Pero notemos lo que la Biblia dice: But let's notice what the Bible said: 4Y él no quiso por algún tiempo And he would not for a while Todos los lamentos de la mujer caían en oídos sordos... Repeated attempts seem to fall on deaf ears... Aunque él mismo dice NO temer a Dios ni respetar a los hombres... Even though he confess not to fear God nor regard man... Va a actuar... He is going to act...

¿Por qué? Why? 4Y él no quiso por algún tiempo; pero después de esto dijo dentro de sí: Aunque ni temo a Dios, ni tengo respeto a hombre, 5sin embargo, porque esta viuda me es molesta, le haré justicia, no sea que viniendo de continuo, me agote la paciencia. And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, 'Though I do not fear God nor regard man, Yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.' " Fue la mujer la que lo hizo cambiar... It was the woman who made him to change in his thinking... ¿Cómo? How?

Por ser, "IMPORTUNA" By being, "PERSISTANT" El Juez dice que lo hará, solo porque la mujer ya lo CANSÓ. The Judge said that he will take action just because the woman wearies him. Estaba cansado de ella. He was tired of her.

La aplicación de la parábola... The application of the parable... Jesús trata de llamar la atención de sus oyentes al decir: Jesus is trying to call his listeners attention by saying: 6Y dijo el Señor: Oíd lo que dijo el juez injusto. Then the Lord said, "Hear what the unjust judge said. Fue movido por la importunidad de la mujer... He was move by the woman's persistance...

Luego para aplicación, el Señor dice: El juez ya declaró que no teme a Dios, ni respeta a los hombres... The judge has already declared not to fear God, nor regard man... Pero fue esta mujer quien lo hizo cambiar… But it was this woman who change his thinking… Luego para aplicación, el Señor dice: Then by application the Lord said:

El contraste... The contrast... Veamos de cerca lo que el Señor dice. 7¿Y acaso Dios no hará justicia a sus escogidos, que claman a él día y noche? ¿Se tardará en responderles? And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? Veamos de cerca lo que el Señor dice. Let's see closer what Jesus has said. Lo que Jesús dice es: Imagínense, si este juez es malo e hizo justicia, ¿Cuánto más Dios? What Jesus is saying is: Imagine for a moment if this judge being evil he does justice, how much more God? ¿Cuánto más un Dios justo? How much more will a just God? El contraste... The contrast...

LA VIUDA--------------------------------------------EL PUEBLO DE DIOS Solamente extraña---------------------------------Elegidos. 1 Ped 2:9-10. Solo ella sola---------------------------------------Somos muchos. Estaba a distancia--------------------------Podemos acercarnos Heb.4:15. Un juez injusto---------------------------------Un Padre Justo. Por su propia cuenta---------------------Dios en con nosotros Rom.8:31. Pide por su propio caso-----------------Tenemos un abogado Rom.8:34. No le prometen respuesta----------------Tenemos una promesa Lc.18:8. Tenía acceso limitado--------------------Acceso sin límites. El pedir enojó al rey-----------------Cuando pedimos agradamos a Dios. Si el importunar le sirvio a la viudad, ¿Cuánto más Dios, no nos dará todo lo que le pidamos? If persistence paid off for the widow, how much more for God's elect who pray?

Apoc 6:9-10. Revela.6:9-10. 2 Ped.3:9 ¡Dios vengará a sus escogidos! God will avenge his elect! El puede guardar por mucho tiempo las oraciones de sus escogidos que sufren y lloran. Luc 18:7. He may bear long with the prayers of his persecuted people…Luke 18:7. Apoc 6:9-10. Revela.6:9-10. 2 Ped.3:9 Cuando Dios se vengue, no perdonará a nadie. When his vengeance comes, it will come swiftly!

La viuda nos representa a nosotros los cristianos... Todos sabemos que muy pronto viene un día, día de angustia y de juicio. There is a day coming in which God will take vengeance. 2 Tes.1:7-9. El mundo sufrirá una gran destrucción por haber maltratado a los hijos de Dios. There will be a sudden destruction with no way to escape. 1 Tes 5:3. La viuda nos representa a nosotros los cristianos... The widow represents us the christians...

Pero Jesús se hace una pregunta: But Jesus ask a question: 8Os digo que pronto les hará justicia. Pero cuando venga el Hijo del Hombre, ¿hallará fe en la tierra? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?" ¿Qué pregunta con eso? What is Jesus asking with that? Que no se nos olvide que el Señor vengará a los suyos… Let’s not forget that God will come avenging his people. ¿Cuándo? When?

That's why Jesus is asking. Por eso pregunta Jesús. That's why Jesus is asking. Su retrazo hace que muchos se enfrien y ya no oren.. His delay may prompt some to lose faith (Lack of prayer) Este es el propósito de esta parábola, no desanimarnos y orar siempre. This is the purpose of this parable, not lose faith but to pray more.

¿Oramos así como actuaba esta mujer? ¿Como estamos nosotros como cristianos? How about us as christians? ¿Oramos así como actuaba esta mujer? Do we pray the same way this woman was acting? Al final lo logró. In the end she wins.

1 Tes 5:17. ¿Estas orando siempre? Are you always praying? ¿Lo estamos logrando nosotros, y orando como Pablo dijo? Are we praying like the way Paul exhorted many christians? 1 Tes 5:17. Dios nos hará venganza, pero para eso tenemos que ser importunos... God will avenge his people, but in order for him to do that we need to be persistant in prayer... ¿Estas orando siempre? Are you always praying?

Importunidad hermanos, importunidad... Persistant brothers, Persistant...
