Questions in Spanish Question form Answer form (usually) Tú/Usted  ¿De dónde eres (tú)? Ustedes  ¿De dónde son ustedes? Yo (Yo) soy de _____. Nosotros (Nosotros) somos de _____.

Nosotros [another person/other people] y yo = nosotros [name] y yo – María y yo; Miguel y yo [role/relationship] y yo – Mi hermano y yo; El alumno y yo [group of people] y yo – La clase y yo; Mi familia y yo [multiple people] y yo – Elena, Francisco, y yo; Mis primos y yo

Section 2: Regular Verbs in General

Regular Verbs: How do they work? To conjugate a regular verb, you need 2 things 1. Stem (based on the verb itself) 2. Endings (based on the type of verb and verb tense)

What is a stem? Non-conjugated verb (aka: infinitive) is the form you find in vocabulary lists, the dictionary, etc. All non-conjugated verbs end in one of three letter pairs: AR, ER, or IR The non-conjugated verb [minus] the two letters at the end [equals] the stem. HABLAR – AR = HABL- MIRAR – AR = MIR- Stems are usually written with a hyphen at the end to show that something needs to be added.

Section 3: -ar Verbs

-AR Verb Endings Yo -o Nosotros -amos Tú -as x él ella -a usted ellos ellas -an ustedes

[Here are some of the verbs from our vocabulary.] What are the stems? HABLAR MIRAR BUSCAR COMPRAR PAGAR TOMAR HABL- MIR- BUSC- COMPR- PAG- TOM-

How to conjugate? Ex: Hablar in the Yo form 1. Stem: habl- 2. Ending: -o 3. Final result: hablo Sentence: Yo hablo español en clase.

HABLAR hablo hablamos hablas X habla hablan
