Past Progressive

1. The imperfect endings for estar are: estabaestábamos Estabas Estabaestaban 2. Object pronouns go before the verb or are attached to the participle and an accent is added. Me estaba bañando. Estaba bañándome. Lo estaba leyéndolo cuando me llamaste.staba leyéndolo cuando me llamaste.

Past Progressive The past progressive (pasado progresivo) is used to describe past actions in progress. It is formed with the imperfect of estar + the present participle of the main verb. Mateo estaba estudiando. Mateo was studying. Nosotros estábamos hablando. We were talking. Ellos estaban corriendo. They were running.

Past Progressive When the past progressive and the preterite are used in the same sentence, the past progressive describes an action in progress, and the preterite describes completed actions or interrupting events within that setting.

Past Progressive As with the present progressive, the past progressive refers to actions in progress. Past actions or states that were ongoing or habitual, rather than in progress, and states or conditions that were not unfolding or changing are referred to with the imperfect. Estaba lloviendo cuando salí de la casa. Llovía mucho en el pueblo donde vivían mis abuelos.
