Stem To find the stem, you drop the last two letters of the infinitive (unconjugated verb). Any remaining letters are the stem.

The Preterite of Ir, Ser, Ver, Dar

Preterite means past tense. Used to express an event or action that began and ended at a definite time in the past. Example: I went to the store. I bought a Dr.Pepper. I accidentally spilled it.

Irregular Verbs Irregular Verbs: Do not follow a normal pattern of conjugation (stem + ending). You just have to memorize the different conjugations of an irregular verb.
