Library Davs/Días de Biblioteca October 6, 2016 Kinder News: Veterans’ Hill Elementary Greetings! Welcome to the seventh week of school! The students are doing a great job getting accustomed to our schedule. It is now October and we are finally getting some cooler weather in the mornings and evenings. Remember to dress your child accordingly. You may send a light jacket in the mornings (please label the tag on the jacket with your child’s name).   !Saludos! Bienvenidos a la sexta semana de escuela! Los estudiantes se están acostumbrando muy bien al horario.  Ya estamos en octubre y el clima esta fresco por las mañana y tardes. Recuerde de mandarle a su hijo(a) una chamarra liviana para las mañanas frescas. Póngale el nombre en la etiqueta por favor. Lunchroom: Parents who come to eat lunch with their child are asked to not invite their child’s friends to join them at the parent table. Thank you. Comedor: Los padres que vienen a comer con sus hijos se les pide que no se invite a los amigos de sus hijos a unirse a ellos en la tabla primaria. Gracias. Library: We will be visiting the library once a week and your child will be able to check out 1 book to take home. Please remind your child to take good care of their book. Do not put water or drinks in the backpack where book is carried. See library schedule days to know which day to return your book. Biblioteca: Los estudiantes visitaran la biblioteca cada semana y pueden sacar un libro prestado para llevar a casa. Por favor recuérdele que tienen que cuidar su libro y no poner nada de líquidos adentro de la mochila donde esta su libro. Miren en cual día es su día de biblioteca para regresar y cambiar por otro. Take home Folder: As we start to get busier in Kindergarten, your child’s teacher may not have time to put a behavior color in the daily folder. If there is no color, assume your child had a great day. Your child’s teacher will always contact you regarding behavior that needs to be discussed. La carpeta de su hijo(a): Ya que empezaremos a estar muy ocupados en Kínder, su maestra a veces no tendrá el tiempo de marcar el color de comportamiento en la carpeta. Si no hay color, asuma que su hijo(a) tuvo un buen día. Su maestra estará en contacto con usted tocante cualquier problema de comportamiento. Kindergarten Nursery Rhyme show and Pumpkin Math Fun are activities we will have on October 24th and October 31st. More information to come! In Reading, we are learning our letters and how to make connections to the text. In math, we are using manipulatives to solve addition and subtraction story problems. In Social Studies, we are learning to identify different family customs, traditions and celebrations. In Science, we are learning to observe objects by their properties and using our 5 senses. En la lectura, estamos aprendiendo nuestras letras y cómo hacer las conexiones con el texto. En matemáticas usaremos objetos para sumar y restar en problemas. En Estudios Sociales, estaremos aprendiendo sobre las costumbres, celebraciones, y tradiciones de familias en nuestra unidad de la comunidad. En Ciencias, aprenderemos a observar objetos usando sus propiedades usando nuestros cinco sentidos.
