Adverbs Words that describe how, when, and where actions take place. Can modify verbs, adjectives, and other adverbs In English, many adverbs end in “ly.” The Spanish equivalent is “mente.”

To form adverbs ending in “mente”: Add “mente” to the feminine form of the adjective. If the adjective doesn’t have a special feminine form, add “mente” to the standard form. Adjectives don’t lose their accent marks when adding -mente Adverbs that end in -mente generally follow the verb, whereas other adverbs generally precede the verb .
