Subject Pronouns in Spanish Singular Plural_______ Yo = I Nosotros = We (masculine/mixed group) Nosotras =We (feminine) Tú = You Él=He Ellos = They (masculine or mixed group) Ella=She Ellas =They (feminine) Ud. =You (formal) Uds. = You guys (formal and informal* when talking to a group of people) * Vosotros = you all (Spain)

Caution! -The masculine plural forms nosotros and ellos refers to a group of males and females. - There is no Spanish equivalent of the English it. Generally, it is not expressed in Spanish. However, you can use the verb es as a way to express it. Ex: Es un book. or Es un lápiz. its a book. Its a pencil.

When referring to one person or one object. es = is Él Ella Es Ud. Ex: él es feo. she is ugly. ella es tonta. He is dumb. Ud. es bajo/a. *Be careful with Ud. because adjectives need to agree with the subject.

To express how an object is in Spanish use the verb es. es azul or El libro es azul. its blue The book is blue.

Plural Form of Ser Plural form of ser

When Talking About More Than One Person or Object: Nosotros somos = We are Ellos Ellas Son Uds. Ex: Nosotros somos famosos. We are famous. Ellas son altas. They are tall. *Make adjectives plural when you are talking TO or ABOUT more than one person.

To express how objects are in plural form use son. Ex: Los libros son rojos.

Caution! When you are talking about YOURSELF and someone else in a sentence use SOMOS. Ex: Jessica y yo somos bajas When you are talking ABOUT other people use SON. Ex: Mark y Lisa son altos When you are talking TO a group of people use Uds. Ex: Uds. son feos (You guys are ugly)

Ellos son …. (Dont forget it is plural form)
