Present perfect You can use the present perfect . . . • to say what has or hasn’t happened in a period of time up to the present. No he viajado a Brasil este año. I haven’t traveled to Brazil this year. (the year hasn’t ended yet) • to talk about something that happened very recently. Dile al recepcionista que has perdido la llave del cuarto. Tell the receptionist that you’ve lost the key to the room.

Present perfect of pedir To form the present perfect, use the present tense of the helping verb haber (to have) followed by the past participle of the main verb.
