Usted and Ustedes commands (formal)

What are these? Usted commands are used when telling someone you consider Formal what to do. You might use this when talking to a teacher or an adult. Ustedes commands are used when telling a group of people what to do. THIS COULD be a group of people you consider ‘FORmal’ or a group of peers.

So we know how to form Tú commands, but how do we form Usted commands? You form Usted commands by: 1. Take the verb in the él, Ella, Usted form. 2. If the ending is –a, change it to –E. 3. If the ending is –E, Change it to –A. Bailar Baila Baile Comer Come Coma

How do we form Ustedes commands? You form Ustedes commands by: 1. Take the verb in the ellos, Ellas, Ustedes form. 2. If the ending is –an, change it to –En. 3. If the ending is –En, Change it to –An. Bailar Bailan Bailen Comer Comen Coman

Negative Ustedes commands?? Negative Ustedes commands are formed easily by just putting a ‘no’ in front of the Ustedes Command. BailarBailanBailen no bailen
