First off, it is worth reminding that RES investment reached in 2015 their record: we are talking of 329 bn of investment, 4% more in comparison with 2014 and a ten-fold increase in comparison with 2004 levels. Secondly, the plunge of the commodity prices of the last months, that given the surge of investment on the RES sector has provided evidence that their trend is totally unrelated with the development of RES. Finally, the incredible decrease in the cost of the technology, as for PV levelised cost of electricity decreased of around 60% whereas for wind costs have reduced by 15% in the last 6 years. These trends have paved the way for the situation sketched in the chart. Let’s have a look at the level reached by prices per MWh. Around 2 years ago we talked about the record price of PV in the Emirates, this is still a record price but we can easily see as also in other countries prices are converging toward the bottom. In Latam, for example, where we recently submitted our offer in Peru and we expect the award to reach the range indicated in the chart. If this will be the case we will have soon a new record price for PV. Let’s continue with Morocco where it is known we won with a record price in the range of 28-30 $ MWh. This is the reality we will have to deal with in the years to come characterized by increased competition and squeezing margins. If we want to survive and still prosper we understood we will have to adapt our strategic approach accordingly.

In case of abundant resource they can compete with fossil fuel generation RES have a shorter construction time, and offer a fast and flexible response to growing demand RES are modular and their flexibility allows the reduction of costs thanks to scale economies Investment in RES can create new local jobs from the preliminary phase of studies (when engineers, surveyors and local specialist are requested) to the construction and the maintenance phases RES mitigate the energy dependency and contribute to secure the energy supply, reducing the exposure of power prices to commodities market fluctuations RES are a environmentally-friendly option to solve air and water pollution issue and to fight the climate change 5 3 4 Las características de la generación renovable confirman que las renobales pueden contribuir positivamente a la diverisifcacion de la matriz energetica 13/06/2016 Energia Eólica en America Latina – Enel Green Power Área Latin America
