Mandatos de Nosotros Español III

Nosotros Commands In English we use “nosotros commands” all the time. It’s used the same way in Spanish. It means “Let’s…” To form the nosotros command for MOST verbs… get the “yo” form of the verb drop the “o” add the opposite ending

Nosotros Commands Stem-changing verbs whose infinitive ends in –ir have a stem change of e → i or o → u. pedir = ¡Pidamos perdón por el malentendido! dormir = ¡No durmamos tarde!

Nosotros Commands -car, -gar, -zar verbs have a spelling change… c → qu = ¡No nos critiquemos! g → gu = ¡Juguemos bien hoy! z → c = ¡Empecemos a estudiar!

Nosotros Commands: Ejemplos Let’s eat at Taco Bell. Comamos en Taco Bell. Let’s watch the new Terminator movie. Miremos la nueva película de Terminator. Let’s study for Spanish. Estudiemos el español. Let’s write a story. Escribamos una historia.

Nosotros Commands When using pronouns you have to attach it to the end of the affirmative command. The same rules that you apply for affirmative TU, USTED and USTEDES commands. Count back two vowels from the first pronoun added. Remember your diphthongs… strong vowels – a, e, o weak vowels – i, u

Diphthongs… ¡Juguémoslo bien! !Publiquémoslas al público! Let’s play it well. !Publiquémoslas al público! Let’s publish them to the public.

Nosotros Commands w/ DOP Comamos las frutas. Cerremos la puerta. Hagamos los pasteles. Pongamos el mantel. NOSOTROS command + d.o.p ¡Comámoslas! ¡Cerrémosla! ¡Hagámoslos! ¡Pongámoslo!

Nosotros Commands w/ IOP Expliquémosle el problema. Let’s explain the problem to him/her. Contestémosles la pregunta. Let’s answer the question for them.

Nosotros Commands w/ Reflexive Pronouns When adding the reflexive pronoun “nos” drop the final “S.” ¡Cepillémonos los dientes! Let’s brush our teeth. ¡Peinémonos el cabello! Let’s comb our hair.

Negative Nosotros Commands Put the pronoun between NO and the conjugated command form. ¡No la comamos ahora! Let’s not eat it now! ¡No le contemos el secreto! Let’s not tell him the secret! ¡No nos despertemos temprano! Let’s not wake up early!
