We can think of the formation of the Tú commands one of two ways: Ejemplo: Tocas el piano muy bien.  Toca el piano ahora, por favor.  Tócalo ahora, por favor.

10  Negative commands of verbs with infinitives ending in –car, -gar, -zar have the following spelling changes:  Tú tocas el piano muy bien.  No lo toques (-c to –qu) ahora.  Nunca llegas al tiempo.  No llegues (-g to –gu) tarde hoy.  Siempre empiezas tarde.  No empieces (-z to –c) tarde.
