La hora To add minutes after the hour, simply add “y” and the number of minutes. Son las dos y veinte (2:20) After the half hour, you can either continue to say “y,” or you can subtract the minutes using “menos,” as we do in English Son las dos menos veinte (1:40) It’s twenty minutes until two (1:40)
