¿Qué son? Commands are called the IMPERATIVE. Used to give orders and tell someone what to do or not to do! Eat your vegetables! Don’t talk when the teacher is talking! Don’t use your cell phone in class. Do your homework every night!
The affirmative tú form: Tú + Is the same as the él/ella/Ud. form of the present indicative -AR ends in “a”; -ER/-IR ends in “e”. Habla; come; escribe
Negative tú commands: Tú - Steps: 1. Form the present tense yo form 2. Drop “o” 3. Apply the opposite “tú form ending” AR ES ER/IR AS Put NO in front of the command to make it negative Ejemplos: No comas No escribas No hables

CAR, GAR, ZAR in the negative Have the same spelling change as the yo form of the preterite. CAR: NO _____ques tocar: toca/no toques GAR: NO _____gues pagar: paga/no pagues ZAR: NO ______ces almuerza/no almuerces
