¿Cuál parte es la raíz? Hay dos partes del verbo: la raíz y la terminación y ya sabemos de las terminaciones de –AR, -ER e –IR. There are two parts to the verb: the stem (the root) and the ending and we already know the endings of –AR, -ER, and –IR. Claro, la parte que no es la terminación es la raíz. Los verbos eie Hay unos verbos que tienen un cambio de raíz de “e” a “ie”. El cambio es siempre la vocal cerca a la terminación –AR, -ER, o –IR. There are verbs that have a stem-change from “e” to “ie”. The change is always the vowel close to the –AR, -ER, or –IR ending. Un caso especial Hay un verbo que no es oue sino uue y este verbo es “jugar”. There is a verb that is not oue but uue and this verb is “jugar” jugar yo juego nosotros jugamos tú juegas vosotros jugáis él, ella, Ud. juega ellos, ellas, Uds. juegan

Una práctica Mis amigos _________ (almorzar) a la una. Ella _________ (preferir) comer el pollo. Tú _________ (pedir) ayuda de la profesora. Yo _________ (querer) ir a España. Mario _________ (dormir) muy tarde. Nosotros _________ (servir) el postre. El bebé _________ (reír) al perro. La gente _________ (morir) de cáncer. Los chicos _________ (jugar) el fútbol. Yo _________ (pensar) antes de contestar.

Respuestas Mis amigos almuerzan a la una. Ella prefiere comer el pollo. Tú pides ayuda de la profesora. Yo quiero ir a España. Mario duerme muy tarde. Nosotros servimos el postre. El bebé ríe al perro. La gente muere de cáncer. Los chicos juegan el fútbol. Yo pienso antes de contestar.
