Lavo la ropa por la mañana. Me lavo por la mañana. I wash the clothes in the morning. I wash (myself) in the morning. The ME is the reflexive pronoun. Reflexive means: the subject acting upon itself or the action of the verb reflecting back onto the subject.

Los pronombres reflexivos son: (Uds.,ellos, ellas) SE (themselves, yourselves) (Ud., él, ella) SE (himself, herself, yourself, itself) (vosotros /as) OS (yourselves) (tú) TE (yourself) (nosotros /as) NOS (ourselves) (yo) ME (myself)
