2  NLT Matthew 11:28 Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke fits perfectly, and the burden I give you is light.“  Mateo 11:28-30(NTV)  28 Luego dijo Jesús: «Vengan a mí todos los que están cansados y llevan cargas pesadas, y yo les daré descanso. 29 Pónganse mi yugo. Déjenme enseñarles, porque yo soy humilde y tierno de corazón, y encontrarán descanso para el alma. 30 Pues mi yugo es fácil de llevar y la carga que les doy es liviana».

3 God’s rest – stepping into God’s promises by faith  What is it:  A ceasing from labour/striving – no more self-effort – entering into God’s grace  A ceasing from fear – you are forgiven, cleansed, free from the burden of sin, free of guilt and condemnation, free to live the abundant life Jesus promised  A ceasing from worry – trusting God as in the land of Canaan – he is your provider – that means no more anxiety, fear of future!

4 God’s rest – stepping into God’s promises by faith  What is it: abundant life  Living a life of peace – the reality of psalm 23 – fully trusting God as your good shepherd so you can lie down in green pastures.  Living a life of fulfillment as you walk out your destiny – the end of pursuing roads that lead nowhere – stepping into the works God prepared for you – living His plans and dreams for you  Eternal security – no fear of death – knowing the joy of a better future with God

5  Matthew 11:28-30The Message (MSG)  28-30 “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
