3 Unit 7...GOING GREEN Objectives: At the end of the unit 85 % of swbat identify environmental practices and products of the target culture as found in authentic materials, associated with environmental practices of the target culture by responding and asking questions, stating needs and preferences, exchanging information and creating a multimedia presentation, poster or brochure related to the targeted topic.

6 REDUCIR… How can we reduce what is damaging the planet ? P : Humo de carros ---car’s smoke Solución : Caminar (walk), ir en bicicleta (ride a bike), tomar el ómnibus (take a bus) o el metro(sub- way. P:Desechos de fáfricas- -- wastes from factories (they affect waters and health and kill animals. Solución : eliminar desperdicios de forma segura ( eliminate waste safely )

7 P : usamos mucho papel (we use too much paper) Excesiva tala de árboles… excesive logging Solución: Ahorrar el papel escribiendo ambos lados de la hoja. ( Save paper by writing on both sides of the sheet.)

8 P: El uso indiscriminado de energíaThe indiscriminate use of energy Solución: Apagar lo que no estemos usando, la computadora, el TV, el radio, la luz, etc. ( turn off which we are not using computer, TV, radio, the light, etc. Utilizar bombillos eficientes. (Use efficient bulbs)

9 P: Arrojamos mucha basura. ( We threw a lot of trash ) Solución : Reusar y Reciclar P: Gastamos demasiada agua. (We consume too much water) Solución: Cerrar llaves mientras nos cepillamos o bañamos y reparar goteos y salideros de inmediato.(Turn off faucets while brushing or bathing and repairi dripping or leaks immediately.

Ropa y zapatos (clothes and shoes) Contenedores plásticos (plastic containers) Con los contenedores plásticos podemos hacerVasijas plásticas para comer, Floreros, Vasos, Cajas para herramientas ( With plastic containers can do: Plastic bowls to eat, Vases, Glasses and Tool boxes

11 BOLSAS PLASTICAS … plastic bags / Baterías…batteries Debemos reusar las bolsas una y otra vez o sustituirlas por bolsas de papel o de tela. (We should reuse the bags again and again or intead use paper or cloth bags.Las BATERIAS pueden ser recargadas. Batteries slould be recharged or reclicled

12 RECICLAR Cada tipo de basura de ponerse en el contenedor adecuado. Put each type of trash in the appropriate container. Verde Vidrio Amarillo Metal Rojo Baterias, etc Gris Latas Azul Papel En el contenedor rojo depositamos productos tecnológicos, insecticidas, lo más contaminate.

13 ¿Qué podemos reciclar? What can we recycle? Podemos reciclar: We can recycle: Papel (de revistas, periódicos, libros ) PAPER Latas (de alimentosy y de soda) CANS Bolsas y botellas plásticas. (bags and plastic bottles) Recipientes de vidrio. (glass containers)
