Go through it with the class (they should have a copy to put in their books in easily accessible place – maybe the back) and then do the odd one out activity as suggested on slide 5. Encourage them to use the key verbs they know – tener, ser, estar and hay.

El animal: Es de…. La habitación normal: Vive en… Descripción física: Es.. Tiene Activitdad preferida: Su actividad preferida es.. La función: Sirve para La vida: Vive para.. Students refer back to the definitions of animals they prepared at the end of last term (in their tutor group classes). They need to practise giving their presentation. Most able should try from memory, middle to fold back the 3rd column and just use the sentence starters and less able can read with good pronunciation.

The rules for the presenters are in yellow, the rules for the listeners are in green.They don’t say the name of the animal, the class makes notes of key words that they recognise and they guess the name of the animal. Each person says – Pienso que es…… and the others can respond – Es verdad – Es mentira – Estas loco – Yo tambien – Yo tampoco and the student tells them what it is, and then you move on to the next student.
