1 F-25 CHECK LIST DE DOCUMENTOS PARA CONSULTA (BIBLIOTECA) PROYECTO 450 Brief Description:Breve Descripción del Proyecto: Project Name and Location : Water Treatment Improvements in Lordsburg, New Mexico Type of Project: Water Treatment Total Cost in USD Million: $2 million Project Description: The City of Lordsburg proposes to improve its water treatment system to eliminate high levels of fluoride prior to distribution of water to the city’s residents by means of an activated alumina treatment system, a treatment method that reduces the concentration of fluoride in drinking water. The project includes the construction of a 1,200 linear feet of eight-inch PVC C-900 water line extension connecting the Smith Well to the Water Treatment Plant (WTP), as well as the installation of 3,720 linear feet of ten-inch HDPE sewer line to connect to an existing manhole and dispose of backwash flush water. Community Benefits: The benefits include a reduction of fluoride in the city’s water, an improved water treatment system, improved health for the community, regulatory compliance, the eventual elimination of dental fluorosis or mottled teeth, of skeletal flourosis and fluoride poisoning Nombre del Proyecto y Localización: Mejoras al Sistema de Potabilización de Agua en Lordsburg, Nuevo Mexico Tipo de Proyecto: Agua Potable Costo Total en Millones de Dólares: $2 millones Descripción del Proyecto: La ciudad de Lordsburg propone realizar mejoras a su sistema de potabilización con el fin de eliminar los altos niveles de flúor en el agua antes de su distribución a la comunidad, mediante un sistema de tratamiento de alúmina activada, un método de tratamiento que reduce la concentración de flúor en el agua potable. El proyecto incluye la construcción de una línea de ocho pulgadas de PVC C-900 de agua potable de 1,200 pies lineales de longitud, para conectar el Pozo Smith con la Planta Potabilizadora, y la instalación de 3270 pies lineales de una tubería de 10 pulgadas de polietileno de alta densidad para conectar al pozo de visita y la disposición de las aguas del retrolavado Beneficios a la Comunidad: Los beneficios incluyen la reducción del flúor en el agua de la ciudad, un mejor sistema de potabilización, mejoras a la salud de la comunidad, cumplimiento de la normatividad, la eliminación a futuro de la fluorosis dental o dientes manchados, la eliminación a futuro de la fluorosis esquelética y de la eliminación de la intoxicación por flúor
