1 F-25 CHECK LIST DE DOCUMENTOS PARA CONSULTA (BIBLIOTECA) PROYECTO 445 Brief Description:Breve Descripción del Proyecto: Project Name and Location : Wastewater Collection and Treatment Project in Colonia Esperanza, Chihuahua. Type of Project: Wastewater Treatment Sector as well as in the Domestic Water and Wastewater Hookups Sector Total Cost in USD Million: $2.18 Project Description: Project improvements to the sewer collection system and the construction of a new Wastewater Treatment Plant. Community Benefits: The proposed wastewater collection project will help collect wastewater throughout the community, reducing thus the potential for human contact with raw wastewater and organisms that are vectors for diseases. In addition, the project will reduce the potential for groundwater and surface water contamination by eliminating the use of latrines, septic tanks, and wastewater discharges to open-air drains. The effluent from the proposed wastewater treatment plant will be discharged to agricultural drains and eventually to the Rio Grande, creating an environmental and human health benefit for residents of the Juarez Valley and adjacent areas in the United States. Tipo de Proyecto: Conexiones Domésticas a los Servicios de Agua y Alcantarillado y Tratamiento de Agua Residuales Costo Total en Millones de Dólares: $2.18 Descripción del Proyecto: El proyecto consiste en mejoras y ampliación al sistema de alcantarillado sanitario y la construcción de una planta de tratamiento de aguas residuales. Beneficios a la Comunidad: Las obras de alcantarillado propuestas permitirán recolectar las aguas residuales de la ciudad, reduciendo el potencial de contacto de los habitantes con las aguas residuales y con organismos vectores de enfermedades propiciadas por estos; también, se reducirá el potencial de contaminación de las aguas subterráneas y superficiales al eliminarse el uso de letrinas, fosas sépticas y descargas drenes a cielo abierto. El efluente de la planta de tratamiento proyectada se descargará a drenes agrícolas y eventualmente al Río Bravo, aportando un beneficio ambiental y a la salud humana de los residentes del Valle de Juárez y las zonas aledañas de los EUA.
