2 Premise: Language is a complex object that serves not only communicative, but also cognitive abilities and reflection of purposes, whereby an individual comprehends the world. Premisa: El lenguaje es un tema complejo que sirve no sólo para comunicar, sino que desarrolla las habilidades cognitivas y propósitos reflectivos donde un individuo comprende el mundo. Language helps construct new knowledge. El lenguaje por si mismo ayuda a construir nuevo conocimiento.

3 Epistemology is the science on how an individual gets the gist of his reality. La epistemología es la ciencia sobre como un individuo comprende la realidad.

5 Conductists claim that language can only be acquired by mechanical drills. That is, only by repetition can students acquire new language. Los conductistas afirmaban que el lenguaje puede solo ser adquirido por medio de repeticiones mecánicas.

8 Thus, Constructivism reacts to the former theories stating that language acquisition is not only by input given but inner grammar is an ability innate in every human. (2001) rather than the cause. Producir o decir palabras en un lenguaje no quiere decir que se ha aprendido. Por el contrario, de acuerdo a Ellis, R. La produccion de un lenguaje es el resultado de haberlo comprendido, mas que la causa de ello.

11 Littlewood, W. states that we understand twice as much as we speak. Hence, to enhance production skills (speaking), we should double the amount of input (watching and listening to videos, songs,etc..) Littlewood, W. menciona que un individuo entiende el doble de lo que habla. Es por ello, que para mejorar el nivel de producción (habilidad de hablar), debemos incrementar al doble la cantidad de Input-(lo que escuchamos) –a través de la exposición a videos, canciones, etc..-

13 To sum up, it is the purpose of the new methodologies to enhance the level of oral production by means of multiplying the input. That is, by having Students taking classes in English, watching videos, and real-life situations ;albeit, they are never forced to produce before they are ready to pull it off. En conclusión, el propósito de las nuevas metodologías es el de motivar el nivel de desempeño oral a través de multiplicar la cantidad de input recibida. Esto es, al lograr que los estudiantes tomen clases en Inglés, ver videos, y al enfrentarlos a situaciones de la vida real; no obstante, nunca deben ser forzados a hablar hasta que estén listos para lograrlo de manera existosa.
