2 Subjunctive with Emotion Verbs
As you already know, we use the subjunctive after verbs indicating suggestions, desire, or demands. The subjunctive is also used after verbs and impersonal expressions indicating emotion, such as: Subjunctive with Emotion Verbs

Ojalá que Temo que Tengo miedo de que Me alegro de que Me molesta que Me sorprende que Siento que Es triste que Es bueno que Es una lástima que I hope that… I fear that… I’m afraid that… I’m happy that… It bothers me that… It surprises me that... I feel/regret that… It’s sad that… It’s good that… It’s a shame that… Subjunctive with Emotion Verbs

4 The Subjunctive with Emotion Verbs
REMEMBER that the subjunctive sentences have two parts, each with a different subject, connected by the word que:

5 2 Clauses Independent clause (stands on its own) Subject > Verb
Separated by the word “que” Nosotros tememos que nuestros amigos desconfien de nuestras palabras. Indicative Verb Dependent clause (can’t stand on its own) Begins with the word “que.” 2 Clauses Subjunctive Verb

6 The Subjunctive with Emotion Verbs
When the sentence has only one subject, we usually use the infinitive instead of the subjunctive.

7 The Subjunctive with Emotion Verbs
Siento no pasar (yo) mucho tiempo con mis amigas. I feel like not spending much time with my friends. Siento que ellas no pasen mucho tiempo conmigo. I feel like they don´t spend much time with me.
