2 Orthodontics Is concerned with the supervision, guidance, and correction of growing and mature dentofacial structures. Concerniente con la supervisión, guía y corrección del crecimeinto y maduración de las estructuras dentofaciales formadas. The orthodontist works very closely with the pediatric and general dentist in providing an opportunity to change a person “smile”. El ortodoncista trabaja conjuntamente con el odontopediatra y dentista general en brindar la oportunidad de cambiarle la sonrisa a una persona.

3 Malocclusion: refers to this abnormal or malpositioned relationship of the maxillary teeth to the mandibular teeth when occluded. Maloclusión: referida a la relación anormal o malposición de los dientes maxilares con respecto a los dientes mandibulares cuando ocluyen.

4 Angle`s Classification. (Clasificación de Angles)
Any deviation from class I occlusion is regarded as malocclusion. Cualquier desviación de la Clase I, es considerada maloclusión. . Class I (Neutrocclusion) The mesiobuccal cusp of the maxillary first molar occludes in the bucal pit of the mandibular first permanent molar. La cúspide mesiofacial del primer molar maxilar permanente ocluye en la fosa bucal del primer molar permanente mandibular.
