2 Affirmative and Negative words are antonyms AFFIRMATIVE NEGATIVE

3 AFFIRMATIVE WORDS: Ejemplos: They always arrive late Someone wants to go to their locker. I also sing and play the guitar. Some boys play basketball. Ellos siempre llegan tarde. Alguien quiere ir a su armario. Yo también canto y toco la guitarra. Algunos chicos juegan al basquetbol

English Maria doesn’t need anything NOT Maria doesn’t need nothing Spanish Maria no necesita nada NOT Maria no necesita algo Negative words may come before or after the verb If it comes AFTER the verb, we must use a no before the verb

7 Alguno, alguna, algunos, algunas
and Ninguno, ninguna, ningunos, ningunas have to agree with the noun in refers to in number (singular/plural) and gender (masculine/feminine) Ejemplos: I bought some books We don’t have any class together (juntos). Yo compré algunos libros. Nosotros no tenemos ninguna clase juntos.
