13 Genetically Modified Organisms Organismos Genéticamente Modificados Companies genetically manipulate seeds and plants to grow faster, bigger and stronger. They often cannot reproduce so farmers have to buy the seeds over and over instead of saving seeds, like nature intended. 16 High fructose corn syrup is… an artificial sweetener used by many beverage companies in the US. Studies have indicated that it may lead to obesity, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes.
