1 Quien es Multi-Tech Fundado en 1970 Oficina central, MN USA
Fabricante Global de equipos de Telefonía, Acceso de Internet, Acceso Remoto y Módems Multi-Tech was founded in 1970 in a suburb of Minneapolis. Some of you might be familiar with our first product - the acoustic coupler. It’s ironic that the industry is talking about convergence. If you take a close look at our first product it sure resembles a converged product. Today we are diversified into four businesses; Client access (Modems), remote access (Servers and Cards), Internet access (Routers and Security Appliances) and telephony (VOIP). We will cover each of these businesses this morning with an emphasis on telephony.

2 La Filosofía de Multi-Tech
Equipos confiables Empresa privada Alianzas con clientes por muchos años Multi-Tech still holds the same values and philosophy which were the foundation of the company 31 years ago. 1. We believe a product must solve a business problem. To have a successful product, it must be reliable. We've built our reputation on reliable products. 2. We believe in financing our growth through our own earnings and we have consistently done so. Today we are maintaining profitability in a very tough marketplace. 3. Our success is based on repeat business with long standing customers, vendors and community. We have built a loyal following for Multi-Tech and we hope to grow that customer base with our new technologies. We've earned their repeat business by becoming a customer-focused company.

3 Voz Sobre IP Esquema de Entrenamiento
Que es Voz Sobre IP Quien es el Cliente Presentación del MultiVOIP Aplicaciones del MultiVOIP Herramientas de ventas para el MultiVOIP Key Message: The Voice over IP portion of our training is quite extensive, so we felt it made sense to outline for you what I plan to go over during the presentation. 1. The basics - an introduction (or review for some of you ) of Voice over IP 2. Customer Implementation - identifying prospects for voice-over-IP 3. VOIP Approaches - Pros / Cons of voice-over-IP approaches 4. MultiVOIP - an overview of Multi-Tech’s VOIP solution 5. MulitVOIP Applications - where and how can you sell VOIP 6. H.323 & MultiVOIP Gatekeeper - what is it H.323, and how it relates to an H.323 Gatekeeper Again, at any point in this presentation, we encourage questions, so please feel free to interrupt if I’m going to fast, or you need clarification on something.

4 Como funciona la Red de Voz
La voz/fax es enviado sobre un circuito dedicado Las llamadas para voz/fax son enviadas usando números telefónicos Los conmutadores de teléfono saben como obtener un numero del teléfono publico Voice networks set up point to point communication between 2 phone numbers. The PSTN sets up the transmission by establishing a 64K channel through is switched network. Once the channel is established voice transmission is done in frames. When the conversation is concluded the circuits are made available for another call.

5 Como funciona la Red de Datos
Los datos son enviados en paquetes IP es el protocolo estándar Los datos son enviados usando direcciones IP Los routers saben como obtener cualquier dirección IP Data Networks are very similar to voice networks. Every device in a data network has an IP address associated to the device. All communication in a data network is a point-to-point transmission between two devices established by their IP address. Routers are the devices which set up (deliver) the point-to-point transmission.

6 ¿Que es Voz sobre IP (VOIP)?
La voz/fax son convertidos en paquetes IP La voz/fax y datos comparten la misma red IP La voz/fax “viaja gratis” sobre la red de datos VOIP is nothing more than taking voice and putting it into an IP packet to transmit it over an IP network, and then converting back into voice on the other end. The excitement surrounding IP today is the idea of running voice over your data network providing toll by-pass for free long distance communications. The proposition is simple: You already own your company wide data network, so why don't you also use it for intra-company voice and fax?

7 Despliegue del VOIP Fuente: Synergy Research Group $ Millones
There are two main objectives for this graph. 1. Voice over IP is a rapidly growing business segment. There is an opportunity to profit selling VOIP solutions for many years. 2. If you look at market segment trends you will see them follow the bell curve. Bell curve analysis of VOIP deployments indicates we are starting the high growth period which follows the early adopter stage of a bell curve. Thus, the technology is being accepted by the market.

Our gateways support industry standard ways of interfacing voice networks. Via Analog or Digital T1. There is now a programmable FXS/FXO port. FXS on the MultiVOIP is the equivalent of a POTS / PSTN analog line. Any device that will plug into POTS / PSTN analog line will plug into this port. Typical examples are standard phones / Fax machines / Multi-Line phones or Key telephone systems. FXO is used to connect to analog extensions of a PBX. E&M is used to connect to Tie / Trunk lines of a PBX. The T1/PRI interface can be used to support up to 24 concurrent calls when connected to a T1 or PRI card in a PBX or directly connected to a channelized T1 PSTN line. The MVP3010 supports with 30 concurrent calls through E1/PRI for Europe and the rest of the world.

The first is establishing call set-up. In simple terms what happens is that a table is created which associated a dialed number to an IP address. The exact opposite happens at the other side. Once the connection is established the call stays up until either side terminates the call by hanging up. In large VOIP networks we will need to off load this function to a device called a gatekeeper, which we will cover in more detail later. The second function of the MultiVOIP is packetization and de-packetization of voice. In engineering terms this is hard part of voice-over-IP. Since this the primary function of MultiVOIP we are able to focus on doing this task with a goal of optimal voice quality.

In this example we have a 3 location business. They have very competitive long distance calling rates of 4, 6 and 8 cents per minute. They spend 10 hours total per day on intra-office calls. This customer will recoup there one time investment in 5 months (7 months with a 5-day business week). Calcule su propio ahorro con MultiVOIP:

16 Como puede hacer dinero
This is another way to look at the same 3 location customer we did on the previous slide. The purpose of this view is not ROI but instead what happens after the ROI period. The original investment is $ Payback is achieved in 5 months (5 day work week has a payback of 7 months). At the end of the 1st year the customer has a $8,500 net profit. In 2 years, they have made $23K, at the end of 4 years, they have made $52K. Pretty impressive numbers from a very conservative example!

Un teléfono analógico Un fax analógico Llamada local a la red del VOIP Oficina Central Sistema de Conmutador Marque “9”para llamadas fuera de la oficina Oficina Remota Un teléfono analógico Un fax analógico Off-net calling is the ability to get on or off a VOIP calling network. In this example we have a telecommuter off the IP network can make free long distance calls by dialing into a local MultiVOIP and placing toll-free calls to any location on the VOIP network. You can even have a MultiVOIP at a remote site dial a local phone number for a free person-to-person long distance call. Give some customer specific examples.

20 Establezca una extensión fuera de la oficina
Oficina de Casa Establezca una extensión fuera de la oficina Since the advent of broadband into the home environment. You can now extend the reach of a corporate PBX into the home environment by creating an off-premise extension. With our new MVP110 single port VOIP, you can put a low cost gateway in a home office and create an off-premise extension that can be reached from corporate as easily as dialing someone in the office. Plus, the home office can reach corporate and make free long distance calls to other remote offices on the VOIP network, and/or centralize long distance calling (when reaching those off the VOIP network). The MultiTech RF500S or RF550VPN Broadband routers are excellent partner products to the MVP110.

21 Extendiendo un Conmutador sobre una red Inalámbrica
MultiVOIP will work over any IP data network. Wireless is growing in point-to-point applications. Wireless is like VOIP because it involves a one-time hardware investment rather than a re-occurring utility bill. Putting VOIP on a wireless environment allows a customer to extend the reach of a PBX.

Since voice-over-IP interfaces your data network there is always the question of what effect it will have on data network security. This is not a factor in private networks since they are “private”.

A diagram of existing Data and Voice equipment is an ideal way to get the collaboration required started.

Data requires 14K of available bandwidth per voice channel. Voice requirements are related to the number of voice-over-IP channels required to handle day-to-day dialing requirements. The easiest approach is to take the number of outside lines available and multiply by the percentage of the long distance bill spent on intra-office calling. If the percentage is unknown , “rule of thumb” is 30% You may also want to take into consideration the peaks in business caused by seasonal changes and scale accordingly.
