2   1. Hola, me llamo/yo soy Sr. Villanueva. Yo estoy en el grado nueve y asisto la escuela Da Vinci Design. Hoy voy a presentar sobre la clase de español. Yo tengo treinta y cuatro años y me gusta leer (activity), correr y jugar fútbol (activity). Soy (I am) bajo (adjective), moreno, y serio (adjective). 4   Este semestre yo aprendí como decir el alfabeto (how to say the alphabet). This semester I learned how to say the alphabet. I learned there are four unique letters which are: ch, ll, ñ, and the rr. I will now say the alphabet..  Este semestre yo también aprendí como contar hasta treinta (how to count to 30). I also learned to count to 30 and learned how to spell the numbers in Spanish.. Here I go.. Uno, dos, tres… Slide Three

5   Este semestre yo aprendí los días de la semana (the days of the week). I also learned how to say and spell the days of the week in Spanish… lunes, marter, miercoles...  Por ultimo, este semestre yo aprendí describir el clima (how to describe the weather). 6  2a. Of the four big content pieces we went over with Mr. V, the three I will go over are: *Cognates *Verb Conjugation and *Día de los Muertos Abilidades Esenciales (essential skills)

7  Cognates are words in English & Spanish that are spelled the same way and mean the same thing. They are important to know because they help us read and understand a new language. 10 examples are: -color –hospital –univision –lateral –balance –casual -animal –digital –final –idal 1. 8   *If you choose Verb Conjugation, you will: a) explain what the process is b) why it’s important to know c) complete a conjugation table for any THREE verbs of your choice. For example – DibujAR (to draw) = Yo dibuj- o Nosotros dibuj- amos Tú dibuj- as Él/ella dibuj- a Ellos/ellas dibuj- an ustedustedes

9   A) Conjugation means changing verbs to fit the nouns and adjective they are paired with. B) The process involves cutting the last two letters of a verb and adding the appropriate ending. C) Conjugation is important to know because they help us understand and write in Spanish.  The three verbs I will create a conjugation table for (FIVE verbs for natives) are: Dibujar, Comer, Hablar Conjugation

14   If you choose Día de los Muertos, you will: a)state the history and importance of the tradition, including the origins, facts and altar requirements b) explain your personal altar and how it symbolized the person you chose to honor.

15  3. Las áreas académicas dónde necesito mejorar mi aprendizaje del español son (the areas in which I need to improve in Spanish are… 3-4 sentences). I need to improve on conjugation because I got a 2 on the quiz. I need to improve on pronouncing words because I still have trouble saying certain words. 16  4. I am ready to pass on to next semester because…. (3-4 sentences). Based on your body of work this semester, tell me why you should move on to next semester, or why you feel you aren’t!
