6 Why ABA? All of these established treatments have at least some basis in the behavioral literature and/or make use of strategies described in the behavioral literature They all employ the following: - Use of positive reinforcement (R+) - Individualized instruction -Data based decision making

10 Insurance: Getting Started You will need proof of an autism spectrum diagnosis and a prescription for ABA services from your doctor (neurologist or pediatrician) Call the member services number on your insurance card to get an explanation of benefits regarding ABA from your insurance company. Both Autism NJ and Children’s Specialized Hospital offer help navigating your insurance benefits Medicaid = Perform Care, however, Children’s Specialized has a grant to work with Medicaid patients
