2 El Perfecto Presente = Haber(present tense) + Past Participle

3 They have known the truth. Han sabido la verdad.
Examples: I have eaten lunch. - He comido almuerzo. They have known the truth. Han sabido la verdad. We have given her the money. Le hemos dado el dinero. Have you lived here always? ¿Siempre has vivido aquí? She has gone to the mall. Ha ido al centro comercial.

4 Past Participles with an accent on the “i”
Caer – caído – fallen Creer – creído – believed Leer – leído – read Oír – oído – heard Reír – reído – laughed Sonreír – sonreído - smiled Traer - Traído - brought

5 Irregular Past Participles
decir- dicho – said, told morir- muerto - died ver- visto - seen poner- puesto – put, placed hacer- hecho – made, done abrir- abierto – opened cubrir – cubierto – covered romper – roto – broken volver – vuelto returned escribir – escrito - written

6 Placement of Reflexive, Direct, or Indirect Object Pronouns.
ALWAYS in front of form of haber Reflexive - Me he lavado. I have washed myself. Direct Object Pronoun – Juan lo ha visto. Juan has seen it. Indirect Object Pronoun – Ellos nos han dado el libro. They have given the book to us.

7 ….and with a negative and a pronoun….
Paco no me ha dado el dinero. Paco has not given me the money. The negative preceeds the pronoun.

8 Or……. with a direct object pronoun AND an indirect object pronoun
Or…….with a direct object pronoun AND an indirect object pronoun!! Always place the indirect before the direct…. El profesor no nos lo ha dado en la clase. The teacher has not given it to us in class. Yo se las he escrito ya. I have written them to him already. remember !!! le(s) in front of lo, la, los, or las becomes se

9 Haber may be used in the infinitive followed by a past participle.
Estoy feliz haber visto a Juanita y a Ana. I am happy to have seen Juanita y a Ana. Estoy feliz haberlas visto. I am happy to have seen them. Siento no haber escrito la carta. I am sorry not to have written the letter. Siento no haberla escrito. I am sorry not to have written it. Siento no habérsela escrito. (accent on the “e” of haber. I am sorry not to have written it to them.(les changed to se)
