Imperfect of Regular Verbs

1.In English, you use the simple past, used to, or would to say what you did habitually. In Spanish, you use the imperfect. I pestered my brother. I used to pester my brother. I would pester my brother Yo fastidiaba a mi hermano.

2. The imperfect is used to talk about the past, but it has different uses than the preterite. The imperfect tells what someone used to do, what things were like, or how things used to be.

3. Form the imperfect by removing the –ar, -er, or –ir infinitive ending and adding the imperfect endings below. Note that the yo and the él/ella/usted forms are the same. Context makes it clear who the subject is.

4. The imperfect forms of the verb soler with an infinitive are used to say someone usually did something or tended to do something.
