1 Waggoner’s Happenings News from Room 18 February 2011 Reading: Reading: For most of the month we’ll be reading the novel Because of Winn Dixie. It is about a lonely girl finding friends in unexpected places. Math: Math: Please continue practicing those multiplication facts. We will also be studying fractions and begin our unit on measurement. Science: Science: This month the students will be creating different landforms and the effects of natural disasters. Social Studies: Social Studies: This month we’ll be researching famous African- Americans in US history. It is a very busy time as we prepare for the upcoming TAKS tests. After school tutoring as begun and TAKS related homework will coming home. Although this test is very important, I do not want it to become a stressful event for your child. Certain times are set aside in the day for “TAKS”, but we will continue as usual. Science fun and entertaining reading stories are still the norm. All that I ask, is that your child always give their best. As long as they give 100%, all the time, we’ll cross that finish line ahead of the rest. I believe in always striving for success.

Es un tiempo muy ocupado, mientras nos preparamos para la próxima prueba TAKS. Tutoría ha comenzado después de la escuela y la tarea de TAKS será enviado a casa. Aunque esta prueba es muy importante, no quiero que sea un evento estresante para su hijo. Ciertos tiempos son reservados en el día para “TAKS”, pero seguiremos como de costumbre. La diversión de ciencia y las historias divertidas en lectura son todavía la norma. Todo lo que pido, es que su niño siempre da su mejor. Si ellos siempre trabajan al 100 %, ellos terminarán delante de los demás. Creo en siempre esforzarse para el éxito.
