7 Giving advice and making suggestions: Pedir = Aconsejar = Sugerir = Rogar = Exigir = To ask for To advise To suggest To beg, plead To demand

8 Ejemplos: 1. My mother demands that I drive slowly. Mi madre exige que conduzca lentamente. 2. They are begging that we come to the party. Rogan que vengamos a la fiesta. 3. Sr. Will suggests that you do your homework everyday. Sr. Will sugiere que hagas tu tarea todos los días.

9 Expressing doubt or uncertainty: Dudar = Es dudoso = No estar seguro(a) = No creer = No es cierto = To doubt It is doubtful To not be sure To not believe It is not certain

10 Do NOT use the subjunctive with these expressions: There is NO DOUBT! No dudar = No es dudoso = Estar seguro(a)= Creer = Es cierto = No doubt It is not doubtful To be sure To believe It is certain
