3 Goals Increase English language acquisition and reading fluency. Promote anytime/anywhere learning. Improve standardized test scores. Observe a positive influence on students self confidence. Increase class participation and attendance.

4 iPod Materials Students can access the following both at home and school: Audio support for textbooks and literature Podcasts of ESL lessons Educational Applications Videos selected by the teacher Voice memo recordings Filtered Internet content (if wi-fi is available)

5 Student Responsibility The student will be responsible for taking care of the iPod to prevent damage. - The iPod is fragile and it will break if mistreated. - Do not expose the iPod to extreme temperatures. - Keep the iPod away from food and liquids. - The student is not allowed to share or loan his or her iPod to others. 6 Responsibility (continued) The student will not attempt to alter the material or settings of the iPod and will not be allowed to sync it to a computer at home. The student will use the iPod for appropriate educational use, according to the Technology Acceptable Use Agreement found in the Student Handbook. The student will bring the iPod to school every day. 7 Responsibility (continued) The student can only use the iPod in approved areas at school. Hays CISD reserves the right to look at the contents of a student’s iPod at any time. They remain the property of Hays CISD and are on loan to the student. Parents will monitor the student’s use of internet outside of the classroom. Permission Slip

8 Failure to abide by these rules will result in the student’s loss of iPod privileges and may result in disciplinary action. Privileges will be restored at the teacher’s discretion. If the iPod is lost or stolen, a police report will be filed. Responsibility (continued) Permission Slip Please sign the permission slip and turn it in before you leave.

13 Metas Aumentar la adquisición del idioma inglés y la fluidez en la lectura. Promover el aprendizaje en cualquier momento y lugar. Mejorar las calificaciones de los exámenes de TAKS. Observar una influencia positiva en la confianza de los estudiantes. Aumentar la participación en clase y la asistencia.

14 Los materiales del iPod Los estudiantes pueden acceder los siguientes en el hogar y la escuela: Apoyo de audio para libros de texto y la literatura de las clases de ESL Aplicaciones educativas Vídeos seleccionados por el profesor Grabaciones memos de voz Contenidos filtrado del Internet (si Wi-Fi está disponible)

15 Responsabilidad Del Estudiante El estudiante será responsable de cuidadar el iPod para evitar daños. El iPod es frágil y puede romperse de malos tratos. No exponga el iPod a temperaturas extremas. Mantenga el iPod lejos de comida y líquidos. No se le permitirá al estudiante compartir o prestar el iPod con otros estudiantes. El estudiante no intentara alterar el contenido del iPod y no se le permitirá hacer conexión con una computadora en la casa. Forma de Permiso

16 Responsibilidad El alumno utilizará el iPod para razones educativos y adecuados, según el Acuerdo de Tecnología del Uso Aceptable en el Manual del Estudiante. El estudiante traerá el iPod a la escuela cada día. Forma de Permiso

17 Responsibilidad El estudiante solo puede usar iPod en salones designados en la escuela. El distrito escolar de Hays CISD reserva el derecho de revisar el contenido del iPod del estudiante en cualquier momento. Los iPods son propiedad del distrito escolar de Hays CISD y solo son prestados a los estudiantes. Los padres van a vigilar el uso del Internet por los estudiantes cuando están fuera de la clase. 18 Falta de cumplir con estas reglas resultara en la perdida de los privilegios del iPod y puede resultar en una acción disciplinaria. Los privilegios pueden ser reinstalados a la discreción del maestro. Si el iPod se pierde o es robado, un informe a la policía se presentara.Responsibilidad Forma de Permiso Por favor firme la forma de permiso y devuelva antes de irse.
