Puedo identificar un verbo con cambio de raiz: ¿Cuáles son las partes de un verbo? ¿Qué es un verbo con cambio de raiz? ¿Cómo sé si un verbo tiene cambio de raiz? 2 In the present SUBJUNCTIVE, stem-changing –ar and –er verbs have the stem change in all forms except the NOSOTROS. Stem changing e->ie, e->i and o->ue verbs that end in –ir have a stem change in ALL FORMS of the subjunctive.

You can use the previous rule to identify verbs which cannot be stem-changers since only the vowels "E" and "O" can stem-change: Decidir (the next vowel after the ending is removed is an "i" which cannot change) Acampar (the next vowel after the ending is removed is an "a" which cannot change) Buscar (the next vowel after the ending is removed is a "u" which cannot change)

7 Exception!!!! The unique verb jugar falls under the O-->ue stem-changer classification since the verb's original form was “jogar”.

9 How do I know if a verb is a STEM CHANGER?
Separate the verb into its ROOT and ENDING. If it is an “AR” or “IR” verb and the vowel before the ending is “e” or “o”, the verb is a STEM CHANGER. If it is an “ER” verb , memorize the list provided to you.
