2 Name some people in your life who you can tell “what to do”…..and vice versa Mom, Dad, siblings, friends, kids you babysit, coach, teachers, etc. 4/23/20152 Discuss examples of commands these people ask of you or vice versa… …Go to bed, eat your vegetables, take out the trash, clean your room, do your homework, run, jump, practice, call me, leave me alone, go away

3 4/23/20153 ¿cómo se forma los mandatos de tú? Para formar un “mandato”, tenemos que ROBAR la forma de él, ella, o Ud. del verbo en el presente. –Ejemplo: Bailar –bailobailamos –bailas –baila bailan --Pues, “take out the trash” (un mandato—tells someone to do this), simplemente usa sacar en la 3ª persona –  Saca la basura. To add strong emotion, add exclamation marks.

8 4/23/20158 Pronombres con mandatos –Commands are often used with pronouns. Example: Set the table can become Set it. It is the pronoun that refers to the table. In Spanish: ¡Pon la mesa! … Becomes ¡Ponla! You attach the pronoun to the command! Remember Direct Object Pronouns? lo/la-itlos/las-themme-me te-younos-us ¡Empieza la tarea! Start the homework! –  ¡Empiézala! Start it!

9 Acentos 1.If the verb is NOT one of the irregulars (ven di sal…), the accent goes on the second to last syllable of the verb. *count syllables BEFORE the pronoun. Example: ¡Mezcla los ingredientes!….¡Mézclalos…! *You say 1.mez 2.cla (jaw drops 2 times). *Accent goes over mez, which is the second to last syllable BEFORE the pronoun. 4/23/20159

Tell the truth!  ¡Dila! Tell it! (NO hay acento) But…..con 2 pronombres….. – ¡Di la verdad a mí! Tell the truth to me!  ¡Dímela! (ahora, hay acento)
