3 Newsletter and Homework You will receive a newsletter each week from me. It will include what we will be doing that week and how to help your child. Kindergarten will receive homework in their other class. I may send something home to work on if it is a skill that your child needs to work on. 1 st grade- There will be 1 homework page each night. (Monday- Thursday) Please read to and with your child each night. Practice spelling patterns and sight words.

4 Classroom Management Students are expected to behave in school. The rules are : listen to others, follow directions, work and play safely, keep to your own space, respect others’ property, and work quietly. We will be using the stoplight system. Children want to stay on green. If they stay on green all day, children will receive a sticker. When their sticker chart is complete, children will receive a prize. I will also be using egg tickets. Children must have 10 egg tickets to get a prize.

5 Snacks We will be having a later lunch. Therefore, your child may bring a healthy snack. The K students will be having a juice break in their am class. (snack time may be reevaluated)

6 Supplies Any and all donation of supplies is appreciated.

7 1 st grade In Language arts, we will be using 4 blocks. Each day, we will learn word patterns and sight words. (working with words) We will also read independently at our own levels. We will do writing. The last block is guided reading. We are moving to the Common Core Standards. I was on the 1 st grade planning committee if you have any questions.

8 Kindergarten We will be working on the Common Core State Standards in both Reading and Math. We will also be learning about Science and Social Studies. Our days will include: calendar time, table activities, large group, small group, one on one instruction, and centers.

12 Las noticias y las tareas Usted recibirá un boletín de noticias cada semana. Incluirá lo que vamos a hacer esa semana y cómo ayudar a su hijo. Kindergarten recibirá los deberes en su otra clase. Puedo enviar algo a casa para trabajar en si es una habilidad que su hijo necesita para trabajar. Primero Grado- Habrá 1 página de tarea cada noche. (lunes a jueves) Por favor, lea a y con su hijo cada noche. Practique los patrones de ortografía y las palabras de vista.

13 Se porta bien en la clase Se espera que los estudiantes se portan bien en la escuela. Las reglas son: escuchar a otras personas, seguir instrucciones, trabajar y jugar de una manera segura, mantener a su propio espacio, respetar la propiedad de otros, y trabajar en voz pequeña. Vamos a utilizar el sistema del semáforo. Los niños quieren quedarse en verde. Si se quedan en verde durante todo el día, los niños recibirán una pegatina. Cuando su carta de stickers está completa, los niños reciben un premio. También voy a estar usando los billetes de EGG. Los niños deben tener 10 billetes de EGG para tener un premio.

14 La merienda Vamos a tener un almuerzo tarde. Por lo tanto, su hijo puede traer una merienda saludable. Los estudiantes de K va a tener un descanso de jugo en su clase de la mañana. (la hora de la merienda puede ser reevaluado)

15 Las cosas de la escuela Todas y cada una donación de cosas que se usan en la escuela se aprecia.

16 El primer grado En la clase del lenguaje, vamos a utilizar 4 cuadras. Cada día, vamos a aprender los patrones de palabras y las palabras de vista. (trabajando con palabras) También vamos a leer de forma independiente en nuestros propios niveles. Haremos escribir. El último bloque se guía la lectura. Nos estamos moviendo a los estándares básicos comunes. Yo estaba en el comité de planificación del primer grado si tiene alguna pregunta.

17 El kinder Estaremos trabajando en los estándares estatales comunes en la lectura y las matemáticas. También estaremos aprendiendo sobre las ciencias y los estudios sociales. Nuestros días serán los siguientes: el calendario, las actividades de mesa, el grupo grande, el grupo pequeño, la instrucción de 1:1, y los centros.
