3 Listening What time of day is it?
I will read a conversation to you in Spanish. You will be asked questions about the conversation. Some common things to be listening for: What time of day is it? Do the two speakers know each other on a formal or familiar level? What activities (verbs) do they use? Do they plan to see each other again soon?

4 Reading Hola soy Diego Sánchez. Vivo en una casa en la ciudad de Madrid, en España. Mis padres y mi hermano viven conmigo. Tengo quince años, y mi hermano tiene diez años. A mi hermano le gusta mucho jugar al fútbol, pero a mí, no me gusta. Prefiero escuchar la música. Tenemos un gato, y se llama Rufo. Rufo es muy grande y es anaranjado y blanco. A él le gusta mucho pasar un rato con toda la familia. Nuestra casa es muy pequeña; tengo que compartir un dormitorio con mi hermano. Pero no es muy malo porque mi hermano es muy organizado.
