2 Negative Tú Commands To form negative tú command:
yo form present-tense drop the o add the opposite “tú” endings:

3 For –er/-ir verbs add “as”
For –ar verbs add “es” No hables HABLAR hablo For –er/-ir verbs add “as” No comas como COMER

6 -car, -gar, and –zar (verbs)
Have spelling changes in negative tú commands so they can maintain the original sound.

7 -car (c qu) -gar (g gu) -zar (z c) TOCAR toco no toques LLEGAR llego
no llegues CRUZAR cruzo no cruces

8 They are irregular in the negative tú command.
ir, ser, dar, and estar Surprise! They are irregular in the negative tú command.

10 With negative commands, pronouns always go before the verb.
No lo comas

11 ¿Tomo dos aspirinas ahora?
No, no las tomes ahora. Sí tomálas

12 ¿Te doy mi consejo? No, no me des tu consejo. Sí dame tu consejo.

13 You try… Do not wash the car. No laves el carro. Do not wash it. No lo laves. Wash it now. Lávalo ahora.

14 Do not skip a meal. No saltes una comida. Don’t skip it. No la saltes. Skip it. Sáltala.

15 Don’t complain. No te quejes. Complain tomorrow. Quéjate mañana.
