ESTAR: Things that change frequently. Place of a person or thing- Ahora estoy en la clase. Mi gato está en casa. Mis libros están en la mesa. Conditions/Emotions of a person: These things change frequently and aren’t permanent (tired, sick, hungry, excited, sad, nervous)- Estoy nerviosa para mi examen. Ellos están enfermos. Present Progressive tense: what someone is doing in the exact moment- Estoy hablando ahora.

8 Sometimes either can be used but with a different connotation, such as food or how someone looks.
