Basic Level Students: On a separate sheet of paper, create a graphic organizer like the one below. You will do this for each item in each section, making it a total of 12 words. (Pick 2 words from each category) Sentences can be in both language but make sure that the vocabulary word is underlined. (Use the Spanish that you know aside from the one given to you) I will be collecting it so, turn it in. Palabra en español Palabra al ingles Sentence 1. Carne meat Mi mamá come mucha carne. 2. Proficient-Advance Level Students: On a separate sheet of paper, create a graphic organizer like the one below. (Sentences must be in Spanish) You will do this for each item in each section, making it a total of 12 words. (2 words per category) Sentences have to be 6 or more words. NO LESS THAN 6! I will be collecting it so, turn it in. Palabra Oración 1. Pan José come pan todas las mañanas. 2. Carne Julia cocina carne con papas cada miércoles.

14 Actividad #1: Pirámide Nutricional
Task: Create a food pyramid on s white sheet of paper Make sure that it includes the 6 categories Label each category in Spanish and in English. For each category, draw the food/beverage Label each drawing (English and Spanish) Pick 3 different foods/beverage items per category (you cannot use the ones I gave you) There are tons of fruits, vegetables, proteins, dairy, oils (fats), grains out there! Do not use the ones I provided. I WILL NOT COUNT IT.

15 Actividad #2: Plan Nutricional
Task: You will create a 7 day nutricional plan for your friend that needs help eating healthy. Make sure that: Each day is labeled with the name of the week. (In Spanish) You have 3 meals/day (Desayuno, Almuerzo y Cena) and 2 snacks in between. It includes a physical activity and label it. When done with your plan, write a 4 sentence explanation of why your friend should follow your nutricional plan. Use the following template from slide #18 to help you design the nutricional plan.

18 Actividad #3: Fruta Exótica
Task: On a 4 square diagram, you will investigate a Fruta Exótica from a Spanish speaking country. Fold your paper in half twice. You should have 4 squares. Like the one below. Each box should include the information that it is being ask. Remember: This fruta exótica should be “rare” and native to that country. Name of Spanish speaking country Their flag Name of the Fruta Exótica Image of the fruit What is the origin of this fruit? (Where did it come from?) Name 4 health benefits that this fruit provides.
