27 +tú commands Do it!

28 When you give a command, you tell people what to do.
What is a +tú command? When you give a command, you tell people what to do. Tú = you (informal) +tú = positive informal commands = telling friends or family to do something. Example: “Drink more water!”

29 How do I turn a verb into a +tú command
With a regular “-ar” or “-er” verb it seems super easy! It would seem you just drop off the “r” However, the rules on the next few slides are there for other kinds of verbs… EX: Preparar, lavar, beber, cocinar, cortar, comer, traer EX: Prepara, lava, bebe, cocina, corta, come, trae EX: pedir(i), servir(i), poner*

30 You can’t just always drop off the “r”
”-ir” verbs escribir Boot verbs: pedir (i) servir (i) Irregulars: poner* Escribe pide sirve pon (pongo)

31 So, the rule is…? Conjugate the verb to the “Ud./él/ella” box Lava
Lavar Comer Escribir Pedir(i) What about “poner*” – it’s irregular (doesn’t follow the rule above) Lava Come Escribe Pide (it’s INSIDE the boot) Pon (it seems like it would be “pone” …BUT it’s NOT so MEMORIZE on its own)

32 Te toca a ti… turn them into +tú commands
comer beber lavar cocinar cortar Traer preparar come bebe lava cocina corta Trae prepara

33 Te toca a ti… turn them into +tú commands
Pedir(i) Servir(i) Repetir (i) Poner* Pide sirve repite pon

34 The following are the notes on Direct Object Pronouns
DOP’s

35 Forming DOP’s in Spanish
The DOP’s are… We’re just focusing on the bottom 2 boxes: IT and THEM Why are there 2 ways to say IT and 2 ways to say THEM? YEP! Masculine and feminine!

36 Change the following into DOP’s Remember: IT = LO/LA THEM = LOS/LAS
El pollo La manzana Las bebidas Los guisantes Un té helado Unas uvas Cena arroz (???) lo la las los lo (have to memorize M/F sometimes)
