Weather - El Tiempo You may be thinking "wait a minute, I thought tiempo means time..." - well that's true - but tiempo is also used to indicate the weather. The word clima is also used frequently. There are 3 words commonly used to make expressions relating to the weather in Spanish: HACE, ESTÁ, & HAY. Any vocab on this ppt should be added to your vocab lists

Start with… To ask the weather, you say ¿Qué tiempo hace? (what’s the weather like?) To respond you can use the following…

hay... hay nubes- there's clouds Hay tormentas- it’s stormy Hace… Hace mal tiempo- it’s bad out (or it’s bad weather) Hace buen tiempo- it’s nice out (or it’s nice weather)

You can add mucho before the weather to make it “very” something
Ex. Hace mucho sol– it’s very sunny

La Tarea Part 2 (Due Friday)
Look up any Spanish speaking country or city, for example Madrid, Spain. And write out the predicted weather for the entire week (7 days) Label each day with the Spanish word and write out the weather in Spanish. If your country or city has the same weather every day, pick another one. Ex: lunes: hace sol y hace calor.
