After we have our Spanish forecast… Practice saying the words in a sentence. The way you wrote the sentences in our partner activity is how you should say the weather. For example: “Hoy en Philadelphia, hace sol y hace frío. Máxima de 45 grados, y mínima de 32 grados.” That’s it! If you want to add more details or phrases, please see me so it makes sense! Please see me for how to say each number. You MUST say the number in Spanish. Figure out pictures, props, costumes, etc., to use—any way to make your news presentation fun. You are only going to be saying a few sentences each, so make sure you make it interesting and keep your classmates’ attention!

Finally… Now it’s your turn to act it out (or record it to show) in front of the class! Rehearse and run through your skit a few times, and practice those lines to make sure you’re saying your words correctly. Remember, be funny, be creative, be interesting, be unique. Weather isn’t exactly the most fascinating topic in the world, so feel free to make it as enjoyable as possible. If you’re using materials like the SmartBoard, a thumb drive, or other technology, come to my class a few days before your group goes so we can make sure everything plays smoothly and there are no technical difficulties. Please do not hesitate to ask me any and every question you may have, no matter how silly you think it might be!
