“Aquella actividad que utiliza de manera integrada y pertinente las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación, en la formación de un ambiente propicio para la construcción de la experiencia de aprendizaje”.

3 E-Learning es Internet en el proceso de aprendizaje

We think of it not as the latest technology to replace all traditional classroom experiences, but as a rich new set of tools that can enrich any learning experience. Old-world learning models don’t scale to meet the new-world learning challenge. E-learning can provide the tools to meet that challenge. E-learning will not replace the classroom setting, but rather enhance it, by using new content and delivery technologies to enable-learning. In the learner-centric model, the learner has multiple vehicles to learn by, based on the learner preference, and style. Retention for a learner varies, based on content type and the delivery vehicle. The better match of content and delivery vehicle to learner’s style the greater the retention and therefore the greater the results. 6 Objetivos del elearning
Aumentar la cantidad y calidad de los materiales y recursos de aprendizaje y facilitar su acceso a los estudiantes. Incrementar las posibilidades de comunicación didáctica entre los profesores y los estudiantes y entre los propios estudiantes. Flexibilizar el horario de estudio con el fin de adaptarse a las necesidades y posibilidades de los estudiantes.

7 Clasificación de plataformas
Se clasificación según la información que gestionan en CMS, LMS o LCMS: CMS (Content management system): Gestor de contenidos LMS (Learning Management System): Gestionar los alumnos y la formación desde un punto de vista administrativo: exámenes, matrículas, .... LCMS (Learning Content Management System): Permite a varios autores editar simultáneamente contenido contra un repositorio de Learning Objects, además de integrar la parte administrativa. En grandes organizaciones, utilizarían un LCMS para desarrollar y gestionar el contenido formativo, y un LMS como plataforma para integrar con un portal, intranet, etc.
